Privacy Policy:
This privacy policy explains how we use any personal data we collect from you when you use our website or contact us via email.
What data do we collect?
We collect no personal data simply as a result of you visiting our website. However, if you contact us by email then you will have provided us with your email address, name and possibly, other personal information.
How will we use your data?
We collect your data so that we can:
• Develop and maintain a business relationship with you/your company
• Keep you informed of our latest products and services
We will not share your data outside of our own company without your prior consent. This is sometimes necessary when escalating technical issues to third-party companies (or booking accommodation, etc for our training courses).
How do we store your data?
We only retain data that is legitimately required in the course of our business. It is not unusual for it to take several years from an initial enquiry until a sale is made. Therefore, data pertaining to pre-sales (enquiries, proposals, negotiations, etc) will generally be retained for five years from the last date of contact. We do this to streamline the sales process for protracted purchases and to avoid misunderstandings during negotiations.
If your contact leads to a business relationship then we will retain the data for a period of five years after the termination of that relationship. We do this so that we have any information we might require to resolve any subsequent disputes or to defend any subsequent claims against us. We also do this because in the past, we have had clients that were forced to move away from us but then returned several years later. In those cases, it is obviously helpful to both parties to have a complete set of historic correspondence.
Your data is stored securely on various computers used by the staff and sub-contractors of our company. In all cases, only those parties with a legitimate ‘need to know’ will have access to your data. Backups to removable drives are password-protected. Each member of staff and each of our sub-contracted suppliers has committed to the same standards that are explained here.
